  • Animal-based foods contain specific fats that are not present or are low in plant-based foods, particularly omega-3 and saturated fats which are required for healthy cells.
  • Animal-based protein contains all the essential amino acids required, while plant-based sources of protein do not, and typically have a lower digestion and absorption rating.
  • Animal-based meat and organs are of the highest nutrient density, containing many nutrients which are either insufficient or completely devoid in many plant foods.
  • Animal-based nutrition is theorised to be a necessary change in our diet during our evolution from other hominids due to nutrient density.
  • Modern highly-processed, hyper-palatable foods provide fewer nutrients per calorie, leading to overconsumption of calories that leave you overfed and undernourished.
  • Many specific amino acids that are particularly important are not found at all in plant-based foods, such as Anserine, Carnosine, Carnitine, Choline, Glycine, and Taurine.

I've been using organ meats for the past four years consistently via capsules and fresh grass fed/organic beef and lamb products including liver, kidney, bone marrow and heart. I notice immediate benefits in my mood, mental clarity, skin health, energy and general well being. Being able to get these in a convenient and sustainable product like Vital Origin is a game changer.

I used to have chronic anemia, fatigue, mood swings, PMS, dry skin and a host of other issues. Since adding in organ supplements, along with increasing animal foods, I've noticed an immediate improvement in my health. I no longer have anemia, my energy has drastically improved, my PMS symptoms have drastically lessened, my skin has improved and overall I feel much healthier.

No “balanced” diet can truly be whole without organ meats. Our ancestors would have never discarded the most nutritious parts of the animals they risked their lives to hunt. Many of us who haven’t grown up eating nose-to-tail have difficulty developing a taste for organ meats, but fortunately we don’t have to anymore.

I've been following an animal based diet on and off for a while and I've felt great while still being able to train and perform at my best. However, I've always found it really difficult to get in organ meats with my diet, even though I know I should add them due to the nutrient density. Thankfully, with encapsulated organs like Vital Origin I can easily get the organs into my diet whenever I need.

What are organ supplements and why are they beneficial?

Organ supplements are capsules made from freeze-dried animal organs, such as kidney, liver or heart. They are beneficial because they contain a high concentration of nutrients that are essential for human health, such as vitamins, minerals, enzymes, hormones and peptides. Organ supplements may help support various aspects of health, such as nutrient deficiencies, energy levels, low mood, brain fog, immune health and more.

Why should I choose Vital Origin over other organ supplement brands?

Vital Origin is a trusted and reputable organ supplement brand that sources its organs from 100% regeneratively sourced grass-fed and finished Australian beef. This means that the animals are raised in a natural and humane way, without the use of hormones, antibiotics or GMOs. The organs are also processed by Australia’s only high-welfare, on-farm processor, Provenir, who ensure the highest quality and safety standards. Vital Origin’s organ supplements are pure and potent, without any fillers, additives or allergens.

How do I take Vital Origin’s organ dietary supplements?

Vital Origin’s organ supplements come in easy-to-swallow capsules that can be taken with or without food. The recommended dosage is 4 capsules per day for each organ supplement, unless otherwise advised by your healthcare practitioner. You can take them all at once or spread them throughout the day. You can also mix and match different organ supplements to suit your individual needs and preferences.

Are there any side effects or contraindications of taking organ supplements?

Organ supplements are generally safe and well-tolerated by most people, as they are made from natural food sources that have been consumed by humans for thousands of years. However, there is always a possibility that some individuals may react to certain foods and cause allergic reactions or mild discomfort in their digestive system. It’s always best practice to consult your doctor or medical professional before starting any new supplements, especially if you have a pre-existing medical condition or are taking medication.

How long does it take to see the benefits of taking organ supplements?

The optimal health benefits of taking organ supplements may vary depending on your individual health status, lifestyle and goals. Some people may notice improvements in their energy levels, mood, skin, hair and nails within a few weeks of taking organ supplements. Others may need more time to experience the full effects of organ supplementation on their nutrient deficiencies, energy levels, low mood, brain fog, immune health and other aspects of general health. Generally speaking, it is recommended to take organ supplements for at least 3 months to see optimal results and for the effects to function properly.

Can I take organ supplements with other dietary or natural supplements?

Yes, you can take organ supplements with other vitamin supplements, herbal supplements or nutritional supplements, as long as they do not contain ingredients that may interact negatively with the organs. For example, you should avoid taking vitamin C supplements with kidney or spleen supplements, as vitamin C may increase the risk of oxalate kidney stones. You should also avoid taking iron mineral supplements with liver supplements, as iron may cause liver toxicity in high doses. If you are unsure about the compatibility of your supplements, please consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking them.

Do I need to eat organ meats if I take organ supplements?

No, you do not need to eat organ meats if you already take organ supplements, as the capsules provide you with a sufficient amount of nutrients to maintain a healthy diet. However, if you enjoy eating organ meats or want to diversify your already balanced diet, you can certainly do so. Eating organ meats can provide you with additional benefits such as protein, healthy fats and collagen.

How do I store Vital Origin’s organ supplements?

Vital Origin’s organ supplements should be stored in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. You should also keep them out of reach of children and pets. The shelf life of the capsules is 2 years from the date of manufacture. You can check the expiry date on the label of each bottle.

Why is regenerative grass-finished the optimal form of beef?

Regenerative agriculture is the most sustainable approach as it helps to rebuild the soil and support ecosystems which are fundamental to a sustainable world. Research also shows that regenerative agricultural practices, which includes grazing animals (like cows), are actually carbon negative thanks to the beneficial effects on the soil.

By contrast, grain fed can be contaminated with herbicides and pesticides which affects the health of the animal. Animals not raised on pasture and instead in feedlot go through more stress, which is fundamentally inhumane. They are packed onto trucks and into tight living quarters which are unnatural and stressful on the animals which affects their health.

Cows that graze on grass also provide greater nutrient density. Research shows that grass-fed beef is leaner, and richer in vitamins and minerals like vitamin E and B12, as well as higher in healthy fats such as omega-3 fatty acids and CLA. But what’s even more interesting is that grass-fed beef has also been found to be richer in phytochemicals such as polyphenols, tocopherols and carotenoids due to the fact they are raised on a diet of plant matter.
